He previously served as a resident physician in the Department of Plastic Surgery and Microsurgery at the Hunan Provincial Corps Hospital of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, and in the Department of Microsurgery at the Affiliated Hospital of Yiyang Medical College. He also taught plastic surgery at Yiyang Medical College. He studied microsurgery plastic surgery under Professor Wang Zengtao at Shandong Provincial Hospital and Professor Tang Juyu at Xiangya Hospital.
